Light for Now and the Future
Waking up today to the news that Russia had invaded Ukraine was not the best start to a grey rainy day! I quickly connected to memories of wartime stories, and anxieties about the future. Only one way to combat such connections: to breathe and choose to focus on the present moment.
Re-connecting my brain to soothing thoughts instead of scary ones and as our vicar Alex said – remembering to have
Faith – evolved from surviving difficulties in the past
Trust – holding on to what is okay in the present
Hope – of the light remaining in the future
Knowing the difference one candle can make in the darkness, let’s hold on to the light of God illuminating our paths as we fumble along making our mistakes and regrets. Surely nothing can separate us from the love of God if we choose to look for the light? Let’s encourage one another to share our kindness, compassion and good deeds and keep the love and light shining.
